Hello ADHD World!

The first of my 2017 resolutions is to get my ADHD Coaching on Facebook. Here are the strategies I used to get this resolution met:

1) Recognize perfectionism and find my way around it. I wanted to get professional pictures and launch with a perfect Facebook presence. Facebook is incredibly easy to update. I don’t need to be perfect. I posted with sub-par pictures and got it done!

2) Focus on the stimulation. I’m really excited to be able to more easily interact with my ADHD community. This is what I’m focusing on more than the minutia of getting all these little Facebook settings correct. Thinking about the positive is, in this case, more motivating than just berating myself over how many years I’ve avoided this task.

3) Ask myself “what’s the first step?” I’d been thinking about how to create a good bridge page between Facebook and my website and struggling with what to put there and my Mentor coach (see step 4) asked if what I need to do before that. Ha! I’d been caught in the trap of not recognizing that I hadn’t taken my first steps. So, I was then free to set up Facebook without a worry about step 2 or 3 which is that pesky bridge page.

4) I hired a mentor coach. Phew, it feels so good to have my mentor coach back in my life! The first session back with her was a whopper (in a good way) I’m so excited for progress. And, look, I’m doing this task that I’ve put off for, um, years.

So, Facebook presence is now established AND New Year’s Resolution Accomplished!! The feeling of getting something done is delightful.
